Fair Chance Housing and Conducting Criminal Background Checks: What You Need To Know

The Fair Chance Housing Act in New York City was created to protect those with past criminal history from being denied housing. While the law restricts housing providers from discriminating against applicants based on criminal history, background checks are still allowed under a more limited scope.
